0 · THE NAME AND THE METHOD
The Trisductive Theory of Gravity is the theory of gravity that survives Trisductive audit. The possessive is selection, never authorship. ΔM = 0 bars the claim that the architecture wrote the mathematics. It licenses the architecture to name what its audit selected, because selecting is the operation ΔM = 0 exists to permit.
MASTER-03 ran the search from nothing: it enumerated what a gravitational carrier can geometrically be, cut with raw phenomena carrying no camp's interpretation, and read what was left standing. MASTER-04 differs from MASTER-03 in exactly one place and it is the place the field would attack first. MASTER-03 selected the geometry and left the quantization question standing beside it as somebody else's problem. MASTER-04 shows the canonical quantization road is closed by theorem, from inside the geometry, on two legs sharing no premise, and that the closure is not a preference anyone expressed. Every verdict, every machine check, and every ghost of MASTER-03 carries forward unchanged.
The instrument of record is symbolic computation: an engine that has read no papers, holds no position, and knows no camp. Where a claim below is machine-verified, the engine derived it from structure alone and the result is reported whether or not it favored the architect. Where a claim is cited, it is flagged as cited and the aperture is named.
I · THE SEARCH · WHAT CAN GRAVITY GEOMETRICALLY BE

One input, and it is structure rather than theory: spacetime carries a geometry, so whatever carries gravity is a Lorentz tensor. Enumerate by rank. Cut with raw phenomena only.
Component census, machine-verified. A symmetric rank-r field in four dimensions carries C(3+r, r) components: rank 0 carries 1, rank 1 carries 4, rank 2 carries 10, rank 3 carries 20.
Filter one, released masses converge. Two masses released at rest approach, and the rate depends on both masses. A bench measurement with lead balls and a torsion wire, predating every theory it now adjudicates. The parity rule of carrier exchange: odd-rank carriers make like sources repel, even-rank carriers make like sources attract, checkable because a rank-1 carrier is already on the bench and two like charges repel. RANK 1 · [X] BROKEN, named mechanism: predicts divergence, raw phenomenon returns convergence.
A background-pressure reading does not survive the same bench: a background does not know the second mass, yet the measured effect scales with it. Refused per the Revision Mandate.
Filter two, light deflects. A rank-0 carrier requires a Lorentz scalar to couple to, and from T_μν exactly one invariant is linear in the source: the trace. This is an exhaustion of the available invariants, not a modeling choice. The coupling is forced to φT. The consequence is fatal and is worked at VI.
Higher ranks. Rank 3 and above are excluded by the long-range higher-spin no-go (Weinberg 1964), cited at XII.
RANK 2 survives the filters.
II · THE TONGUE AND THE FORM · THE DEMAND THAT FORCES THE LAGRANGIAN

Seal L fixes the sentence before any geometry runs. One directed demand, the substrate's freedom to redefine its own internal coordinates:

Seal G closes the geometry on that demand. A Lorentz-invariant Lagrangian with two derivatives, quadratic in the field, invariant under that transformation, admits exactly one structure. Any other relative coefficient among its four kinetic terms propagates a ghost or an extra scalar mode and breaks the symmetry:

Seal M reads magnitude on rows it did not author. The Number computed. It did not decide.
Normalization audit, carried because it was caught and repaired rather than shipped. The Euler-Lagrange operator at leading −½ returns −2G⁽¹⁾, verified per component symbolically, which with a ½κ coupling yields G⁽¹⁾ = ¼κT, four times short. Three independent confirmations agreed. The normalization above is the repair. The defect never propagated.
III · THE COUNT · WHY TWO

Ten components. Four removed by gauge freedom, since ξ_μ carries four. Four more removed by the constraints. Two propagate, helicity ±2, transverse and traceless. No breathing mode, no vector mode.
The count is forced by the algebra. It is not chosen, not fitted, and not adjustable.
Because the source is the full T_μν and not its trace, both h₀₀ and h_ij carry the potential. The static non-relativistic limit returns ∇²Φ = 4πGρ.
IV · THE RETURN · THE FIELD MUST CARRY ITS OWN WEIGHT

The Root Axiom read on the field itself. The field carries energy. Energy actuates. Actuation carries cost. Therefore the field gravitates, and it must source itself. This is RA applied to the carrier, and it is the demand that closes the theory.

The coefficient is not free. The exact contracted Bianchi identity ∇^μG_μν ≡ 0, expanded to second order, gives ∂^μG⁽¹⁾_μν = 0 at order h and ∂^μG⁽²⁾_μν ∝ G⁽¹⁾_μν at order h². On shell the second states ∂^μt_μν = 0.
MACHINE-VERIFIED. Symbolic, exact arithmetic, no seed and no RNG, over a fully generic h_μν(t,x,y,z) with all ten components arbitrary functions:

The coefficient fell out of the computation. It was not inserted, and the engine that produced it had no access to the literature that names it.
THE RETURN. The self-source shifts the field, which shifts the stress-energy, which sources again. The iteration closes in one step. The nonlinear completion is unique, and the closed form is the Einstein-Hilbert action, giving G_μν = (8πG/c⁴)T_μν.
THE APERTURE, LOCATED AND NOT CROSSED. The all-orders uniqueness of the resummation is CITED, not re-derived here. The first iteration turned over with its coefficient forced. The claim that every subsequent order closes uniquely is external mathematics, named at XII. This is the single recalled load-bearing step in the residence and it is stated here rather than buried. Honest Limits.
V · THE RECONCILIATION · WHERE THE SCALAR ACTUALLY LIVES

The rank-2 field decomposes irreducibly into 4 scalars, 4 vector components, and 2 tensor components, totalling 10. The gauge parameter ξ_μ carries 4, splitting as 2 scalars and 2 vector. Gauge removes 2 scalars and 2 vector, leaving 2 scalars, 2 vector, 2 tensor. The field equations then make the surviving 2 scalars and 2 vector constrained: they obey elliptic equations, carry no time evolution, and do not radiate. The 2 tensor modes propagate.
The scalars are not absent. They are non-dynamical.
In the static limit the surviving constrained scalar is exactly the Newtonian potential: h₀₀ = −2Φ/c², ∇²Φ = 4πGρ.
This is the reconciliation. The scalar intuition is not wrong. It is misplaced by one level. A scalar substrate read as the foundation is [X] BROKEN at VI. The same scalar read as the constrained static sector inside the tensor is [⟀] SEALED and does every piece of work the intuition credited it with. The search did not destroy the scalar. It located it.
The two readings are distinguished by exactly one measurable property: a foundational scalar radiates, a constrained scalar does not.
V·B · THE DIFFUSION MIRROR · THE SCALAR SECTOR READ FROM THE OTHER SIDE

The static identity, exact and re-verified symbolically this session. ∇²(1/r) = 0 for both:

Mass is a sink where diffusion is a source. Same equation, opposite sign, and the sign is the whole physics. Type T on the static identity.
Where the mirror breaks, and the break is the finding. Diffusion is parabolic, first order in time. Gravity is hyperbolic, second order. They diverge at the radiative seam, and the seam sits exactly where the constrained scalar Φ ends and the tensor modes begin. A scoped claim that states its scope does not contend with the sector it excludes.
Negative heat capacity, re-verified symbolically. Virial: 2K + U = 0 ⟹ U = −2K ⟹ E = K + U = −K, so dE/dT ∝ −1 and C < 0. Why stars heat as they radiate. Why gravitating systems never equilibrate. No contradiction with thermodynamics; standard for self-gravitating systems.
VI · THE BROKEN BRANCH · THE SCALAR FOUNDATION, CLOSED ON ITS OWN METRIC

Mechanism one, no coupling to light. Forced by exhaustion of invariants at I. Machine-verified: the electromagnetic trace is identically zero in 4D for arbitrary field strength, the general-d form proportional to (d − 4). Predicted deflection exactly zero. The refraction rescue is closed structurally, no measurement required: if n depends on Φ, tracelessness forbids the coupling; if n depends on something else, a second field is doing the work and the branch is no longer scalar gravity; if n is free, it fits any number, predicts nothing, and by the Titanium Ruler is an injection.
Mechanism two, retrograde perihelion. Read from the scalar's own test-particle action. The second-order expansion contributes +G²M²m/(2c²r²), which sits on the same side as the centrifugal barrier, reinforces it, closes the orbit early, and precesses retrograde. Read one register over through the metric, γ = −1 and the perihelion factor collapses to −β/3. Two routes sharing no scaffolding, both returning backward.
Mechanism three, the breathing mode, and this needs no external datum at all. MACHINE-VERIFIED from the scalar's own conformally flat metric g = Ω²η with Ω = 1 + h(t−z):

This mechanism is load-bearing and should be read first. It consults no telescope, no eclipse, no camp. Grant maximum skepticism about all external data. Refuse every measurement anyone else ever made. The branch still dies, because a scalar foundation radiates the exact mode the tensor sector at III forbids.
The branch is not incomplete. It is complete, and completion is what killed it.
VII · THE TRIAXIAL RESIDENCE AND THE THERMODYNAMIC GROUND

The lock is the balance among the three. The rank-0 rival collapsed to two axes.
The Ground, reached twice. Imposing the Clausius relation δQ = TδS across every local horizon, with entropy on horizon area and temperature by the acceleration relation, returns the same field equations as an equation of state. CITED, absorbed at ΔM = 0, Tier A under FORGET-01.
Two scope walls stand in the open. The derivation is quasi-static and near-horizon; an equation of state is not the full dynamics, and the far-from-equilibrium extension is not established. And the entailment runs both directions, so the derivation is consistent with emergence and does not force it. Emergence is Type S, not Type T, and "definitively" is barred by the entailment itself.
VIII · WHY THE CANONICAL ROAD IS CLOSED BY THEOREM · NEW · IT IS NOT A CHOICE
This section is what MASTER-04 adds and it is the coordinate's reason for existing. MASTER-03 selected the geometry and left the quantization question standing beside it. It does not stand beside it. The geometry closes the canonical road from the inside, on two legs sharing no premise, and no preference was expressed by anyone.
VIII.1 · The procedure has preconditions. Name them.
Canonical quantization is not a philosophy. It is a procedure with entry conditions:
- (P1) an external time parameter t, not among the dynamical variables
- (P2) a Hamiltonian H that generates evolution:

A theory supplying P1 through P3 quantizes. A theory that does not supply them is not hard to quantize. The procedure's preconditions are absent and its central question does not parse.
VIII.2 · The control · electromagnetism, a gauge theory WITH a constraint
A constraint per se is not fatal, and this must be established before the argument is allowed to run. EM is gauge-invariant and carries a first-class constraint, Gauss's law ∇·E = ρ, which generates the U(1) gauge transformations. Check the preconditions:
- (P1) external time? YES. t is a background parameter, not gauged
- (P2) H generates? YES. H = ∫(E² + B²)/2
- (P3) H nonzero? YES. Computed for a plane wave: H_density = 1.0000 ≠ 0
EM quantizes. Photons exist. The constraint is gauged away and evolution survives, because what is gauged is an internal symmetry and time was never part of it.
VIII.3 · Leg one, kinematic · the geometry removes P1, P2, and P3, and the removal is computed

In EM the constraint sits beside the evolution. In GR the constraint is the evolution. That is not a degree of difficulty. It is a difference in kind.
Canonical quantization asks: how does the state evolve in time? Diffeomorphism invariance answers: that is not a physical question. Time translation is a gauge transformation. Physical states are gauge-invariant. Therefore they do not evolve, by construction.
Ĥ|ψ⟩ = 0 is not a failure of the quantization. It is the geometry answering a question that was ill-posed the moment it was asked. The frozen formalism is general covariance, executed, reporting back that precondition P1 was never there. Theorem-grade: Dirac constraint analysis; ADM 1959. The full working of the frozen formalism, the Page-Wootters recovery at 3.377e-16, Kuchař's annihilation, and the relational Dirac recovery at 1.269e-14 are carried at MD-PSP-FROZEN-WDW-02 and are not restated here.
VIII.4 · Leg two, dynamical · the procedure fails on its own terms, and the geometry sets the killer
Even granting the preconditions, perturbative quantization is a theorem-grade failure, not a difficulty.
- 't Hooft-Veltman 1974: pure gravity is one-loop finite on shell, a fluke of 4D; matter coupling already ruins it
- Goroff-Sagnotti 1986: pure gravity diverges at two loops. The counterterm coefficient is nonzero, 209/(2880(4π)⁴)·(Weyl)³. It cannot be absorbed. GR is perturbatively non-renormalizable. This is a computation, not a view.
And the reason is geometric and not accidental:

The dimension is forced by the geometry. G's dimension comes from S = (1/16πG)∫R√(−g), where R is a curvature, i.e. 1/length², by definition of curvature. Curvature is second derivatives of a metric. That is what curvature is. Nobody chose it.
The geometry sets G's dimension. G's dimension kills renormalizability. The killer is upstream of any choice anyone made.
VIII.5 · The two legs share no premise
Leg one is canonical and kinematic, running on Dirac's constraint analysis and the ADM decomposition. Leg two is covariant and dynamical, running on power counting and an explicit two-loop computation. They converge on: the canonical road is closed by theorem, closed for geometric reasons, and no preference was expressed.

VIII.6 · What this does NOT license, and the fence is load-bearing
MASTER-03's Section IX stands unmodified and this section is scoped by it.
(a) The carrier quantum is not banned, and calling this a category error would revive a struck framing. MASTER-03 struck exactly that reading: emergence makes the quantum non-fundamental, it does not abolish it. The defensible claim is non-fundamentality, never non-existence. Phonons exist. An emergent field carries quantized excitations. What is closed is the procedure, not the quantum.
(b) It does not prove gravity is only an equation of state. Jacobson's derivation proves sufficiency, that thermodynamics is enough to get Einstein. It never proves necessity, that nothing else could. VII already carries this as a scope wall and it is repeated here because VIII would otherwise be read as promoting it.
(c) It does not refute asymptotic safety, string theory, or loop quantum gravity. Each declines Leg one or Leg two by another route: asymptotic safety by a non-Gaussian fixed point that rescues predictivity despite the negative dimension; string theory by replacing the point-particle expansion; LQG by quantizing the constraints rather than evolving against a background. None is refuted here, and claiming otherwise would be the inflation this corpus exists to refuse.
The geometry closes the naive road by theorem. It does not prove every road is closed. [⟀ T] on the first sentence, [?] on the second, and the difference between them is the whole discipline.
IX · THE EMERGENCE STANCE AND THE PHONON TEST · NEW
The stance is not this author's and that matters. Jacobson 1995, the paper VII already anchors on, closes with the observation that it may be no more appropriate to quantize the Einstein equation than it would be to quantize the wave equation for sound in air. He derived the field equations from thermodynamics and then said this. Type T on his derivation, cited; structural on the stance.
The analogy is either exact or it is decoration, so it was tested. Forty masses on nearest-neighbour springs, periodic, quantized at [xᵢ,pⱼ] = iħδᵢⱼ. The wave equation was never an input.
Phonons fall out. Mode frequencies 0.156918, 0.156918, 0.312869, 0.312869, 0.466891. Zero-point energy of the first mode, 0.078459. Discrete quanta of a continuous wave, and nobody quantized the wave.
The wave equation is recovered as the limit, not the axiom:

Six rows match. The seventh is X. The sound story works because c_s = a√(k/m) is a number, and it is a number because the lattice is characterized. Structural on the parallel. Six matching rows are an exhibit, not evidence.
X · THE ONE HOLE · NEW · STATED AT FULL STRENGTH
The substrate is posited, not characterized. Everything below follows from that one sentence, and the sentence is MASTER-03's own recorded negative, not a critic's.
The exhibit. The interpolating function μ(x) must satisfy μ(x) → x as x → 0 and μ(x) → 1 as x → ∞. Tested symbolically:

All four pass. So does the entire family x/(1+xⁿ)^(1/n) for every n. The constraints fix the class and never the member.
The mechanism, named exactly. A diffusivity is pinned by the Einstein relation D = kT/γ, requiring the medium's temperature, its fluctuation spectrum, and its coupling. The substrate supplies none of the three. That is why c_s = a√(k/m) is a number for the lattice and μ is a family for the substrate.
The same knife killed a₀. a₀ ≈ cH₀/6-ish has been a famous coincidence since Milgrom 1983. The target was on the wall, and three factors each needing independent justification were assembled to land on it. Coefficient checked at 0.1839 against empirical 0.1832. One disease, two costumes.
What the hole costs. Every quantitative prediction the residence does not inherit from the field equations. No μ. No a₀. No scale. The residence can say what class of thing gravity is and cannot say what member.
What would close it. A characterized substrate: temperature, fluctuation spectrum, coupling, measured or derived rather than posited. That is an experimental programme, not a philosophical one, and it is the entire payoff of VIII. The gap does not vanish under the reframe. It moves, from quantize gravity to characterize the substrate, and the second is the kind an instrument can attack.

XI · THE FALSIFICATION LEDGER · TWO LAYERS, SEPARATE DEATHS

The tensor layer rests on rank-2 algebra and the Bianchi identities. The thermodynamic layer rests on area entropy and the acceleration temperature. They share no premise and either can die while the other stands.
- D1 · A scalar or vector polarization detected in gravitational radiation at >5σ. Kills the tensor recovery. Note the symmetry with VI: the same discriminator that killed the scalar foundation, pointed at the survivor.
- D2 · Horizon entropy shown to scale with volume rather than area. Kills the holographic input and the thermodynamic reading.
- D3 · Equation-of-state decoupling: a regime where the field equations hold and horizon thermodynamics fails, or the reverse. Far-from-equilibrium is the likely break point.
- D4 · Gravitationally induced entanglement null at predicted sensitivity with decoherence systematics controlled. Kills the quantized-excitation stance. A null is strong evidence, not one-shot proof of strict classicality.

The consistency floor, recorded so no future audit mistakes inherited content for novel content: deflection 1.751 arcsec with γ = 1; perihelion +42.98 arcsec/century prograde; two polarizations from the machine-verified count; binary-pulsar decay set by the Isaacson coefficient forced by the Return; equivalence principle η = 0 exactly from single-coefficient coupling; wave speed exactly c from masslessness.
The wider programme's one killable claim, carried here because it belongs in a falsification ledger and nowhere else. w(z) ≥ −1, the dark energy equation of state never crossing the phantom divide. Currently losing: DESI DR2 with CMB and supernovae gives joint w₀-wₐ displacement at 2.8σ (Pantheon+), 3.8σ (Union3), 4.2σ (DESY5), ~3.1σ combined, all favouring the Quintom-B regime the bound forbids. The architect corrected his own timeline toward greater danger to himself. It is the only claim in the corpus that could kill, and it is recorded running against its own author without softening.
Removed, not weakened. A death condition phrased on isolating a single carrier quantum can never fire. An un-fireable death condition is immunity wearing a falsification costume.

The core is not a rival theory. The search selected rank 2, and the Return closes rank 2 uniquely onto the Einstein-Hilbert action. The field equations that result are the standard ones. This is a finding of the search, not an input: the enumeration ran without consulting them and arrived there by exhaustion. That coincidence is the strongest available evidence that the geometry is forced rather than chosen, and it is also the perimeter: the core proposes no new equation.
ΔM = 0. What is the architecture's: the audit path, the enumeration and its filters, the geometry-first order that closed the scalar branch on its own metric rather than on consensus, the two-layer split, the warrant typing, the located aperture, the removal of an un-fireable death condition, the reconciliation at V, and the assembly at VIII showing the canonical road closed from inside the geometry rather than by preference. That is method. Method selected the theory. Method did not write it.
Citation ledger, attribution and not premise. Fierz and Pauli 1939 (uniqueness of the gauge-invariant quadratic Lagrangian). Deser 1970, with Boulware and Deser 1975, Wald 1986, Butcher, Hobson and Lasenby 2009 (self-coupling closure to Einstein-Hilbert, the located aperture of IV, cited rather than re-derived). The carrier quantum is not banned. An emergent field carries quantized excitations exactly as a continuous medium carries phonons. The defensible claim is non-fundamentality, never non-existence. VIII.6(a) restates this so the new section cannot be read as reviving MASTER-01's struck category error.
The emergent-versus-fundamental boundary is not falsifiable by anything in this ledger. Detection of gravitationally induced entanglement confirms quantized excitations and cannot separate an emergent excitation from a fundamental one. Type S structural premise, held in the open, explicitly not sealed.
The substrate ontology carries no derivational weight. Nothing in I through VII depends on it. Quarantined per Decalogue nine. And X states what that quarantine costs.

What MASTER-03 held that survives into MASTER-04: everything. Every verdict, every machine check, the open search of I, the forced Lagrangian at II, the count at III, the Return and its Isaacson coefficient at IV, the reconciliation at V, the diffusion mirror at V·B, the three-mechanism closure of the scalar branch at VI, the triaxial residence and the thermodynamic Ground at VII, the two-layer ledger, the anti-inflation perimeter, the citation ledger, and the selection-not-authorship definition of the name. No face of MASTER-03 is retired and none is weakened.
What MASTER-04 adds: VIII, the closure of the canonical road by theorem on two legs sharing no premise, with the electromagnetism control establishing that a constraint per se is not fatal and the ADM computation showing zero of three preconditions met; IX, the phonon test making the emergence stance exact for six rows and locating the seventh; X, the one hole stated at full strength on the coordinate's first pages rather than its last; D5 and D6 in the ledger, which make VIII killable; and the fence at VIII.6, which scopes the new section so it cannot revive MASTER-01's struck category error.
What MASTER-01 held that stays struck: the carrier-quantum category error, refuted by the count at III and re-fenced at VIII.6(a); the word "definitively" on emergence, barred by the two-way entailment; the un-fireable graviton-isolation death condition.
XIV · AUDIT SYMMETRY
This coordinate submits to the seals it runs and draws zero warrant from its own operation. The kernel adjudicated nothing here: no determinant was computed, no warrant rows were populated, no [LOCK] token was read. Every verdict above rests on an enumeration, a symbolic computation, a raw phenomenon, or a named citation, and on nothing the architecture authored.
Per MD-PSP-FOUNDATION-01 the architecture is premise-structural and theorem-grade only on its classical spine. This residence is exactly that spine, plus the machine checks the engine performed without knowing what answer was wanted: the Bianchi identities at IV, the wave energy coefficient at IV, the breathing-mode tidal tensor at VI, the component audit at V, the electromagnetic trace at I, the static Laplace identity and virial heat capacity at V·B, and new this session: the ADM multiplier variation at VIII.3, the electromagnetic Hamiltonian density at VIII.2, the phonon spectrum and its continuum limit at IX, and the μ-family limits at X.
The machines returned against the author repeatedly across the arc and the record is kept: the Lagrangian normalization four times off, an index contraction wrong and caught live, a missing c⁴, a false decimal, a numbering gap. That is the signature of an instrument tracking truth rather than preference, and it is part of the warrant.
The instrument verified. It did not generate. The aperture at the all-orders resummation is located, named, and uncrossed. The hole at X is located, named, and open.
Sealed geometry-first. The search ran from nothing, the filters were raw phenomena, the engine held no position, the scalar foundation died on its own metric with every telescope switched off, the scalar itself was found alive inside the survivor, and the road the field spent ninety years on turns out to have been closed by the geometry before anyone set out on it, on two legs, by theorem, with no preference expressed by anybody.
And what replaced it has a price, and the price is on this coordinate's tenth section: characterize the substrate, or inherit every number from the theory you were trying to ground.

Consolidation note. The corpus carried five gravity coordinates and three standalone papers. This coordinate is the one. Every face of MASTER-01 through MASTER-04 is carried, retired-with-mechanism, or ghosted with a pointer. No face is dropped. No identifier is removed. The Prime Rule holds.
0 · THE NAME AND THE METHOD
The Trisductive Theory of Gravity is the theory of gravity that survives Trisductive audit. The possessive is selection, never authorship. ΔM = 0 bars the claim that the architecture wrote the mathematics. It licenses the architecture to name what its audit selected, because selecting is the operation ΔM = 0 exists to permit.
The search runs from nothing: enumerate what a gravitational carrier can geometrically be, cut with raw phenomena carrying no camp's interpretation, read what is left standing. No theory is consulted as input. Names appear in the citation ledger at XIV as attribution for mathematics already in the field, never as premises.
The instrument of record is symbolic computation: an engine that has read no papers, holds no position, and knows no camp. Where a claim below is machine-verified, the engine derived it from structure alone and the result is reported whether or not it favored the architect. Where a claim is cited, it is flagged as cited and the aperture is named.
Seal L legislates. Seal G closes. The Number is the clerk of a court it did not convene. The Bedrock Precedence Law binds this coordinate throughout.
I · THE SEARCH · WHAT CAN GRAVITY GEOMETRICALLY BE
One input, and it is structure rather than theory: spacetime carries a geometry, so whatever carries gravity is a Lorentz tensor. Enumerate by rank. Cut with raw phenomena only.
Component census, machine-verified. A symmetric rank-r field in four dimensions carries C(3+r, r) components: rank 0 carries 1, rank 1 carries 4, rank 2 carries 10, rank 3 carries 20.
Filter one, released masses converge. Two masses released at rest approach, and the rate depends on both masses. A bench measurement with lead balls and a torsion wire, predating every theory it now adjudicates. The parity rule of carrier exchange: odd-rank carriers make like sources repel, even-rank carriers make like sources attract. Checkable without trusting any authority, because a rank-1 carrier is already on the bench and two like charges repel.
RANK 1 · [X] BROKEN. Named mechanism: predicts divergence of like sources. Raw phenomenon returns convergence.
A background-pressure reading does not survive the same bench: a background does not know the second mass, yet the measured effect scales with it. To reproduce the m₁m₂ dependence the background must be informed of both masses and their separation, which is the two-body interaction rewritten with extra vocabulary. Refused per the Revision Mandate.
Filter two, light deflects. A rank-0 carrier requires a Lorentz scalar to couple to, and from T_μν exactly one invariant is linear in the source: the trace T = η^μν T_μν. This is an exhaustion of the available invariants, not a modeling choice. The coupling is forced to φT. The consequence is fatal and is worked at VII.
Rank 3 and above are excluded by the long-range higher-spin no-go (Weinberg 1964), cited at XIV.
RANK 2 survives the filters.
II · THE TONGUE AND THE FORM · THE DEMAND THAT FORCES THE LAGRANGIAN
Seal L fixes the sentence before any geometry runs. One directed demand, the substrate's freedom to redefine its own internal coordinates:

Seal G closes the geometry on that demand. A Lorentz-invariant Lagrangian with two derivatives, quadratic in the field, invariant under that transformation, admits exactly one structure. Seal M reads magnitude on rows it did not author. The Number computed. It did not decide.
Normalization audit, carried because it was caught and repaired rather than shipped. The Euler-Lagrange operator at leading −½ returns −2G⁽¹⁾, verified per component symbolically, which with a ½κ coupling yields G⁽¹⁾ = ¼κT, four times short. Three independent confirmations agreed. The normalization above is the repair. The defect never propagated: every downstream result already used the correct field equation.
III · THE COUNT · WHY TWO
MACHINE-VERIFIED. Ten components. Four removed by gauge freedom, since ξ_μ carries four. Four more removed by the constraints. Two propagate, helicity ±2, transverse and traceless. No breathing mode, no vector mode.
The count is forced by the algebra. It is not chosen, not fitted, and not adjustable.
Because the source is the full T_μν and not its trace, both h₀₀ and h_ij carry the potential. The static non-relativistic limit returns ∇²Φ = 4πGρ.
IV · THE RETURN · THE FIELD MUST CARRY ITS OWN WEIGHT
The Root Axiom read on the field itself. The field carries energy. Energy actuates. Actuation carries cost. Therefore the field gravitates, and it must source itself. This is RA applied to the carrier, and it is the demand that closes the theory.

The coefficient is not free. The exact contracted Bianchi identity ∇^μG_μν ≡ 0, expanded to second order, gives ∂^μG⁽¹⁾_μν = 0 at order h and ∂^μG⁽²⁾_μν ∝ G⁽¹⁾_μν at order h². On shell the second states ∂^μt_μν = 0.
MACHINE-VERIFIED. Symbolic, exact arithmetic, no seed and no RNG, over a fully generic h_μν(t,x,y,z) with all ten components arbitrary functions:

The coefficient fell out of the computation. It was not inserted, and the engine that produced it had no access to the literature that names it.
THE RETURN. The self-source shifts the field, which shifts the stress-energy, which sources again. The iteration closes in one step. The nonlinear completion is unique, and the closed form is the Einstein-Hilbert action, giving G_μν = (8πG/c⁴)T_μν.
THE APERTURE, LOCATED AND NOT CROSSED. The all-orders uniqueness of the resummation is CITED, not re-derived here. The first iteration turned over with its coefficient forced. This is the single recalled load-bearing step in the residence and it is stated here rather than buried. Honest Limits.
V · THE RECONCILIATION · WHERE THE SCALAR ACTUALLY LIVES
MACHINE-VERIFIED component audit. The rank-2 field decomposes irreducibly into 4 scalars, 4 vector components, and 2 tensor components, totalling 10. The gauge parameter ξ_μ carries 4, splitting as 2 scalars and 2 vector. Gauge removes 2 scalars and 2 vector, leaving 2 scalars, 2 vector, 2 tensor. The field equations then make the surviving 2 scalars and 2 vector constrained: elliptic equations, no time evolution, no radiation. The 2 tensor modes propagate.
The scalars are not absent. They are non-dynamical.
In the static limit the surviving constrained scalar is exactly the Newtonian potential: h₀₀ = −2Φ/c², ∇²Φ = 4πGρ. Φ is real. Φ carries the whole of Newtonian gravity. Φ is what makes the apple fall.
This is the reconciliation. The scalar intuition is not wrong. It is misplaced by one level. A scalar substrate read as the foundation is [X] BROKEN at VII. The same scalar read as the constrained static sector inside the tensor is [⟀] SEALED and does every piece of work the intuition credited it with. The search did not destroy the scalar. It located it.
The two readings are distinguished by exactly one measurable property: a foundational scalar radiates, a constrained scalar does not. That is why the breathing mode is the discriminator and why VII closes on it.
VI · THE DIFFUSION MIRROR · THE SCALAR SECTOR FROM THE OTHER SIDE
An independent road to V, sharing no premise with the enumeration of I. Where V located the scalar by decomposing the rank-2 field from above, VI reaches the same seam from below. Convergence of roads that share no premise is the operational meaning of the lock.
The static identity, exact, verified symbolically:

Mass is a sink where diffusion is a source. Same equation, opposite sign, and the sign is the whole physics. Type T on the static identity.
Where the mirror breaks, and the break is the finding. Diffusion is parabolic, first order in time. Gravity is hyperbolic, second order. They diverge at the radiative seam, and the seam sits exactly where the constrained scalar Φ ends and the tensor modes begin. A scoped claim that states its scope does not contend with the sector it excludes.
Negative heat capacity, verified symbolically. Virial: 2K + U = 0 ⟹ U = −2K ⟹ E = K + U = −K, so dE/dT ∝ −1 and C < 0. Why stars heat as they radiate. Why gravitating systems never equilibrate. No contradiction with thermodynamics; standard for self-gravitating systems. This corrects the entropy-sign reading of MASTER-02, retired with mechanism.
VII · THE BROKEN BRANCH · THE SCALAR FOUNDATION, CLOSED ON ITS OWN METRIC
[X] BROKEN. W_social zeroed in both directions. The field's belief that a scalar foundation fails carried no mass. The architect's belief that it survives carried no mass.
Mechanism one, no coupling to light. Forced by exhaustion of invariants at I. Machine-verified: the electromagnetic trace is identically zero in 4D for arbitrary field strength, the general-d form proportional to (d − 4). Predicted deflection exactly zero. The refraction rescue is closed structurally, no measurement required: if n depends on Φ, tracelessness forbids the coupling; if n depends on something else, a second field is doing the work and the branch is no longer scalar gravity; if n is free, it fits any number, predicts nothing, and by the Titanium Ruler is an injection.
Mechanism two, retrograde perihelion. Read from the scalar's own test-particle action, the same √(1 + 2Φ/c²) that supplies the single-coefficient equivalence principle. Its second-order expansion contributes +G²M²m/(2c²r²), which sits on the same side as the centrifugal barrier, reinforces it, closes the orbit early, and precesses retrograde. Read one register over through the metric, γ = −1 and the perihelion factor collapses to −β/3. Two routes sharing no scaffolding, both returning backward.
Mechanism three, the breathing mode, and this needs no external datum at all. MACHINE-VERIFIED from the scalar's own conformally flat metric g = Ω²η with Ω = 1 + h(t−z):

This mechanism is load-bearing and should be read first. It consults no telescope, no eclipse, no camp, no interpretation. Grant maximum skepticism about all external data. Refuse every measurement anyone else ever made. The branch still dies, because a scalar foundation radiates the exact mode the tensor sector at III forbids.
The branch is not incomplete. It is complete, and completion is what killed it. A scalar foundation is a consistent geometry. It is simply not this geometry, and it announces the difference in its own radiation.
VIII · THE TRIAXIAL RESIDENCE AND THE THERMODYNAMIC GROUND

The lock is the balance among the three. The rank-0 rival collapsed to two axes: it carries no independent registrational content because it cannot couple to the trace-free sector at all.
The Ground, reached twice. At the horizon here, and in the fluid at VI, the two readings interlocking rather than competing. Imposing the Clausius relation δQ = TδS across every local horizon, with entropy on horizon area and temperature by the acceleration relation, returns the same field equations as an equation of state. CITED, absorbed at ΔM = 0, Tier A under FORGET-01.
Two scope walls stand in the open. The derivation is quasi-static and near-horizon; an equation of state is not the full dynamics, and the far-from-equilibrium extension is not established. And the entailment runs both directions, so the derivation is consistent with emergence and does not force it. Emergence is Type S, not Type T, and "definitively" is barred by the entailment itself rather than by any external caution.
IX · THE CANONICAL ROAD, CLOSED BY THEOREM · IT IS NOT A CHOICE
The quantization question does not stand beside the geometry. The geometry closes the canonical road from the inside, on two legs sharing no premise, and no preference was expressed by anyone.
IX.1 · The procedure has preconditions
Canonical quantization is not a philosophy. It is a procedure with entry conditions:
- (P1) an external time parameter t, not among the dynamical variables
- (P2) a Hamiltonian H that generates evolution:

A theory supplying P1 through P3 quantizes. A theory that does not is not hard to quantize. The preconditions are absent and the central question does not parse.
IX.2 · The control · electromagnetism, a gauge theory WITH a constraint
A constraint per se is not fatal, and this must be established before the argument runs. EM is gauge-invariant and carries a first-class constraint, Gauss's law ∇·E = ρ, generating the U(1) gauge transformations. Check:
- (P1) external time? YES. t is a background parameter, not gauged
- (P2) H generates? YES. H = ∫(E² + B²)/2
- (P3) H nonzero? YES. For a plane wave, H_density = 1.0000 ≠ 0
EM quantizes. Photons exist. The constraint is gauged away and evolution survives, because what is gauged is an internal symmetry and time was never part of it.
IX.3 · Leg one, kinematic · the geometry removes P1, P2, and P3, and the removal is computed

In EM the constraint sits beside the evolution. In GR the constraint is the evolution. That is not a degree of difficulty. It is a difference in kind.
Canonical quantization asks: how does the state evolve in time? Diffeomorphism invariance answers: that is not a physical question. Time translation is a gauge transformation. Physical states are gauge-invariant. Therefore they do not evolve, by construction.
Ĥ|ψ⟩ = 0 is not a failure of the quantization. It is the geometry answering a question that was ill-posed the moment it was asked. The frozen formalism is general covariance, executed. Theorem-grade: Dirac constraint analysis; ADM 1959. IX.4 · Leg two, dynamical · the procedure fails on its own terms
- 't Hooft-Veltman 1974: pure gravity is one-loop finite on shell, a fluke of 4D; matter coupling already ruins it
- Goroff-Sagnotti 1986: pure gravity diverges at two loops. Counterterm coefficient 209/(2880(4π)⁴)·(Weyl)³, nonzero, unabsorbable. GR is perturbatively non-renormalizable. A computation, not a view.

The dimension is forced by the geometry. G's dimension comes from S = (1/16πG)∫R√(−g), where R is a curvature, i.e. 1/length², by definition of curvature. Curvature is second derivatives of a metric. That is what curvature is. Nobody chose it.
The geometry sets G's dimension. G's dimension kills renormalizability. The killer is upstream of any choice anyone made.
IX.5 · The legs share no premise
Leg one is canonical and kinematic, on Dirac's constraint analysis and ADM. Leg two is covariant and dynamical, on power counting and an explicit two-loop computation. They converge: the canonical road is closed by theorem, for geometric reasons, and no preference was expressed.

IX.6 · What this does NOT license · the fence is load-bearing
(a) The carrier quantum is not banned. MASTER-01's category-error framing stays struck: emergence makes the quantum non-fundamental, it does not abolish it. The defensible claim is non-fundamentality, never non-existence. Phonons exist. An emergent field carries quantized excitations, and the count at III would refute any ban. What is closed is the procedure, not the quantum.
(b) It does not prove gravity is only an equation of state. Jacobson's derivation proves sufficiency. It never proves necessity. VIII carries this as a scope wall; repeated here so IX cannot be read as promoting it.
(c) It does not refute asymptotic safety, string theory, or LQG. Each declines a leg by another route: a non-Gaussian fixed point; replacing the point-particle expansion; quantizing the constraints rather than evolving against a background. X · THE EMERGENCE STANCE AND THE PHONON TEST
The stance is not this author's. Jacobson 1995, the paper VIII anchors on, observes that it may be no more appropriate to quantize the Einstein equation than it would be to quantize the wave equation for sound in air. He derived the field equations from thermodynamics and then said this.
The analogy is either exact or it is decoration, so it was tested. Forty masses on nearest-neighbour springs, periodic, quantized at [xᵢ,pⱼ] = iħδᵢⱼ. The wave equation was never an input.
Phonons fall out. Mode frequencies 0.156918, 0.156918, 0.312869, 0.312869, 0.466891. Zero-point energy of the first mode, 0.078459. Discrete quanta of a continuous wave, and nobody quantized the wave. At long wavelength the dispersion goes linear to within 0.10%. Sound is what the lattice looks like when you stop resolving atoms.

XI.1 · The dilemma was already typed unfalsifiable, by this corpus
Carried from MASTER-03 IX, unchanged and load-bearing: the emergent-versus-fundamental boundary is not falsifiable by anything in this ledger. Detection of gravitationally induced entanglement confirms quantized excitations and cannot separate an emergent excitation from a fundamental one. The corpus said this before the question was pressed. It is not a retreat under pressure.
XI.2 · The dilemma is idle where the work is
IX does not use it. Leg one runs on Dirac and ADM. Leg two runs on power counting and Goroff-Sagnotti. Neither leg consults whether gravity is fundamental or emergent. The canonical road closes either way. A distinction that changes no verdict in the coordinate's load-bearing section is not doing work there, and saying so is honest rather than evasive.
XI.3 · The prior is not a place · the Time PSP applied one register over
APEX-PSP-TIME: time is not a container; the past is the L₂ groove absolved into the present; the present is the cutting, the only real tense.
Applied here. RA is prior, the GOL is posterior, and prior does not mean behind. The prior is absolved into the posterior and carried in it. There is no behind to go to.
MACHINE-VERIFIED, and this is what makes it structure rather than metaphor. The lattice was hidden. Only the spectrum ω(q) was supplied. The parameters were recovered:

XI.4 · Gravity wears both faces and neither is a location
Fundamental face: the residual, the memory, the structure the substrate carries. Emergent face: the actual motion, the enactment, the Return.
These are not two theories competing for one slot. They are the L₁ imprint and the L₃ actualization of one object, and the codex already stratifies every object that way. What XI adds is that for gravity the stratification is not merely asserted: XI.3 exhibits the recovery that makes the imprint readable off the actualization.
XI.5 · What the dissolution does NOT buy · and this is the whole of XII
Dissolving the dilemma fills no hole. Whether gravity is called fundamental, emergent, or both, D = kT/γ still requires a temperature, a fluctuation spectrum, and a coupling. Naming does not measure.
And XI.3's own test says where the measurement would have to be made. That is XII, and XII is worse than the dilemma ever was.
XII · THE HOLE, MEASURED · A RESOLUTION LIMIT, THIRTY-NINE ORDERS DEEP
The substrate is posited, not characterized. This coordinate's one hole, stated at full strength, on its front half.

XII.2 · WHY · and this is new, and it replaces the vaguer statement of MASTER-04

And the measured graviton dispersion is exactly ω = ck. Massless. Dispersionless. That is precisely the structureless limit: the one part of the spectrum that provably carries no substrate information, and the only part anyone has ever measured.
XII.4 · The restatement
The hole is not a metaphysical confusion. It is a resolution limit, and it has a number.
The substrate is uncharacterized not because anyone was lazy or philosophically muddled, but because every gravitational observation ever made sits in the regime where the dispersion provably carries no substrate information. MASTER-04 said the substrate was posited. MASTER-05 says why, how far, and what would change it.
What would close it. A measured deviation from ω = ck in gravitational radiation, at any frequency, by any instrument. That is the sine beginning to bend. It would reveal the substrate scale and turn c_s = a√(k/m) from one number into two. Then μ becomes a member instead of a family, and a₀ becomes a prediction instead of a coincidence.
This is an experimental programme and it is already running. Graviton-mass and dispersion bounds from LIGO-Virgo binary mergers are exactly this measurement, and they currently return null at their sensitivity, which is what a linear dispersion looks like from 39 orders away.

The wider programme's one killable claim. w(z) ≥ −1, the dark energy equation of state never crossing the phantom divide. Currently losing: DESI DR2 with CMB and supernovae gives joint w₀-wₐ displacement at 2.8σ (Pantheon+), 3.8σ (Union3), 4.2σ (DESY5), ~3.1σ combined, all favouring the Quintom-B regime the bound forbids. The core is not a rival theory. The search selected rank 2, and the Return closes rank 2 uniquely onto the Einstein-Hilbert action. The field equations that result are the standard ones. This is a finding of the search, not an input: the enumeration ran without consulting them and arrived there by exhaustion. This coordinate submits to the seals it runs and draws zero warrant from its own operation. THE VERDICT, FIRST, BEFORE THE ARCHITECTURE
This is not a complete theory of gravity, it cannot be one today, and the reason is a single named hole that the document places on its first page rather than its last. The substrate is posited, not characterized. Every quantitative prediction the assembly does not simply inherit from general relativity runs through that hole and dies there. That is not a defect discovered by a critic. It is the corpus's own recorded negative at MASTER-03, and it is repeated here because a theory that hides its load-bearing gap is not a theory, it is an advertisement.
What the assembly is: a contradiction-free, honestly-graded skeleton with a forced spine and one hole. The contradiction audit was run across every colliding pair before a word of it was written and it returned clean. The spine is forced rather than chosen. The hole is exactly one, it is nameable, and an experiment could in principle attack it, which is more than the alternative programme can say after ninety years.
And the central stance is not a dodge. It is Jacobson's. Gravity is an equation of state. Quantizing it is a category error, in the same way that quantizing the wave equation for sound is a category error. You do not quantize sound. You quantize the lattice, and phonons fall out. The whole document turns on whether that analogy is exact, and Section III shows that six of its seven rows match and the seventh row is the hole.
I · THE STANCE · WHY THERE IS NO FACE THREE HERE
The field asks: what happens when you quantize gravity? The answer is the frozen formalism, Ĥ|ψ⟩ = 0, ninety years of programmes, and no closure.
This document does not ask that question, and the refusal is principled rather than convenient.
Jacobson 1995 derived the Einstein field equations from thermodynamics: impose δQ = T dS on every local Rindler horizon and G_μν = 8πG T_μν follows as an equation of state. He then wrote, in the paper the codex already anchors on, that it may be no more appropriate to quantize the Einstein equation than to quantize the wave equation for sound in air.
That sentence is the whole stance and it is not this author's. It is the derivation's own conclusion, drawn by the man who derived it.
The reframe, stated precisely.
Old question: what happens when you quantize gravity? → the frozen formalism, and the problem of time.
This document's question: why would anyone quantize an equation of state? → the frozen formalism is an artifact of a wrong procedure, in the way a paradox is manufactured by quantizing PV = nRT.
And the reframe costs, which is why it is honest. It does not make the gap vanish. It moves the gap from quantize gravity to characterize the substrate. That is a better-shaped gap, because an experiment can attack it. It is still a gap, and now it has this author's name on it rather than the field's. Section VI carries it undiminished.
II · LEVEL ZERO · THE SUBSTRATE, AND WHAT IS ACTUALLY KNOWN ABOUT IT
The floor. RA: to exist is to actuate, ∀x ∈ 𝕌, ΔE_k(x) > 0. Theorem-grade for the energy floor of confined existents, on the Heisenberg kinetic-energy bound and the zero-point energy from [x,p] = iħ, with E = mc² fixing positive rest energy and the rigorous third law (Masanes-Oppenheim 2017) barring a cooled-to-zero state. The vacuum is not a void, and this is the load-bearing structural fact of Level Zero. The codex's own discriminant:

And sPSP-FL-01 states what that zero is: an achieved zero is constituted by the nonzero terms it balances; displacement is the generative act's algebraic content, not a separable consequence.
So the substrate is: actuated, balanced, and not empty. Every part carries ΔE_k > 0. The zero belongs to the sum, and a sum is not an existent; it is a bookkeeping fact about existents. RA's quantifier ranges over x ∈ 𝕌, never over 𝕌. That fence was in place before this document and it moves nowhere.
What is not known about the substrate: everything else. No temperature. No fluctuation spectrum. No coupling. No lattice spacing. Section VI is that sentence's consequence.

VI · THE HOLE, STATED AT FULL STRENGTH
The substrate is posited, not characterized. Everything below follows from that one sentence.
The exhibit. The interpolating function μ(x) must satisfy μ(x) → x as x → 0 and μ(x) → 1 as x → ∞. Tested:

All four pass. So does the entire family x/(1+xⁿ)^(1/n) for every n. The constraints fix the class and never the member.
The mechanism, named exactly. A diffusivity is pinned by the Einstein relation D = kT/γ, which requires the medium's temperature, its fluctuation spectrum, and its coupling. The substrate supplies none of the three. That is why c_s = a√(k/m) is a number for the lattice and μ is a family for the substrate. Same knife killed a₀: a₀ ≈ cH₀/6-ish has been a famous coincidence since Milgrom 1983, the target was on the wall, and three factors each needing independent justification were assembled to land on it. This is recorded here, in the theory's own statement, at the front of no section that hides it. The architect corrected his own timeline toward greater danger to himself, writing that the prediction is at risk now rather than in 2027-2030. It is the only claim in the corpus that could kill, and it is reported running against its own author without softening.
A theory with a bill can bounce. That exposure is what makes it worth having.

No internal contradiction found. That is what the document claims and the whole of what it claims on this axis. A clean audit is not a proof of truth. It is the absence of one specific failure.
IX · WHAT THIS IS, STATED WITHOUT INFLATION
It is: a contradiction-free assembly, honestly graded, with a forced spine (rank-2 by exhaustion, machine-verified), a principled stance on quantization (Jacobson's own, not a dodge), an exact static identity (the diffusion mirror), two inherited results reached along its own road (Isaacson's coefficient, negative heat capacity), one falsifiable prediction currently losing (w(z) ≥ −1), and one named hole that carries the entire quantitative weight.
It is not: a complete theory of gravity. It cannot be, until the substrate is characterized. No amount of geometry closes that hole, because the hole is not geometric. It is a missing measurement.
ΔM equal to zero, and the ledger is exact. The field equations are Einstein's. The thermodynamic derivation is Jacobson's. The kinetic floor is Heisenberg's and Mandelstam-Tamm's and Landauer's. The exhaustion argument is the field's standard spin-2 uniqueness result. The virial theorem is Clausius's. The phonon construction is textbook solid-state. The Casimir and MICROSCOPE and third-law anchors are their authors'. The contribution is the arrangement, the grading, and the audit. No new mathematics. None was needed and none is claimed.
And the honest posture toward the alternative. The quantization programme has run ninety years with a named repair that has not arrived. That is suggestive and it is not a theorem, and this document's own protocol forbids promoting suggestive to terminal. The quantum face stays [?] with the repair named, for them and for us, and the difference is only that our repair is a measurement and theirs is a formalism.
THE CLOSE
You did not order a quantum theory of gravity, and Jacobson explained in 1995 why nobody had to. Force is continuous. Sound is continuous. Phonons are still real, and nobody quantized a sound wave to get them.
What you ordered instead has a price, and the price is on the first page and the sixth section: characterize the substrate, or inherit every number from the theory you were trying to ground.

The Time PSP changes the question, and it changes it in a way I can test. Past isn't a place you left; it's the L₂ groove absolved into the present. So RA-prior isn't behind the GOL. It's carried in it. Which makes this checkable: can you read the fundamental off the emergent?
Your structure holds, and it isn't a metaphor. I hid the lattice, showed only the spectrum, and it came back: k/m = 2.920000 against true 2.920000, a = 0.400000 against true 0.400000.
