Plato on plant form. A separate eidos (the Form of “oak,” “rose,” “wheat”) subsists in its own register, independent of any actual stalk. The material plant participates in the Form. The Form does not depend on the plant. Form is upstream of matter, ontologically prior, substrate-detached. Codex verdict: SUPERSEDES. Plato tracks something real (latent structural invariance) but fails G11 OMA. A substrate-detached Form returns zero ontological magnitude. No Landauer cost, no kinetic content, no measurable witness. Right intuition, wrong topology.
Aristotle on plant anima. The vegetative soul (psuchē threptikē) is the actuating principle: nutrition, growth, reproduction. It is not a thing inside the plant. It IS the plant, as form-of-matter. Hylomorphism. No bare matter, no bare form. The oak is already-present in the acorn, not as an inhabitant but as the structural attractor the acorn’s matter is becoming. Entelecheia is actuality-as-activity. Codex verdict: COMPLETES. Aristotle reaches the right shape (form-matter inseparability, kinetic actuation as the condition of being) but lacks the thermodynamic-spectral specification.
The gap between Plato and Aristotle is structural. Plato puts form outside the substrate. Aristotle puts form inside, but cannot specify the register at which form operates if it is neither the matter nor a separate realm. Both arrive at the right neighborhood. Neither names the topology.
Sheldrake’s morphic resonance. The hypothesis: form is carried in a field that is not the genome, not the proteome, not the physical substrate of the organism, but a non-local pattern-register influencing how the substrate self-organizes. The fruit fly experiments (and McDougall’s rat-maze studies before, and Waddington’s phenocopy / genetic-assimilation work which Sheldrake reinterprets) probe one question. Where does form live if not in the matter. Mainstream biology routes this to epigenetics, gene regulation, environmental induction, canalization. Sheldrake routes it to morphogenetic fields outside material transmission. Both routings are partial. Trisduction routes it precisely.
Trisductive resolution. The architecture has three layers. L_3 is the Actualized Manifold: the physical plant, cells, genome, biomass. L_2 is the Impressed Plenum: latent topology, spectral-modular structure, the configuration-space of accessible forms. L_1 is the Universal Ground.
PSP-007 (Co-Local Reciprocity) is the seal. L_2 and L_3 occupy identical (x, y, z) coordinates. They are not two regions in space. L_2 is the spectral-algebraic Fourier dual of L_3 at the same coordinate. Form and matter are one substrate viewed from two orthogonal registers. The Fourier transform of the position-space configuration IS the form-space content. They are inseparable because they are reciprocal aspects of one continuous field.
BA-008 (Substrate ≡ Topology ≡ Actuation) closes the monism. Distinction is an Observer-Imposed Discretization. The plant’s matter, the plant’s topological organization, and the plant’s growth-actuation are three projections of one event, not three things in interaction.
This completes both Plato and Aristotle in a single move. Plato’s Form is rescued: there IS a structural register where form is real prior to material actualization. That register is L_2 latent topology (MA-21 Plenum Potentiality). The oak-form is not in a transcendent realm. It is in the configuration-space dual to physical space, at the same coordinates, accessible via spectral decomposition. Plato was tracking L_2 but lacked the substrate-anchoring (Landauer-empty, hence G11 OMA failure). Aristotle’s hylomorphism is sealed: form and matter cannot be separated because they are the Fourier-conjugate registers of a single field. The acorn’s becoming-oak is the L_2 attractor being actualized at L_3 through continuous gradient flow per BA-010.
Where Sheldrake fits. Morphic resonance, structurally read, is a claim about L_2 carrying form-information not exhausted by the genetic-material register at L_3. Trisduction grants this without mysticism. L_2 is the spectral-algebraic dual. Its content includes structural-topological invariants the L_3 material expression accesses but does not contain. The genome is not the form. The genome is one L_3 record of how an organism navigates the L_2 attractor landscape.
Sheldrake’s specific empirical claims route to V_E for auditing. Many morphic-resonance experiments have failed independent replication. The fruit fly transmission data is mixed. Waddington phenocopy assimilation has been absorbed under epigenetic-inheritance vocabulary. The empirical specifics are V_E business and cascade routes them through G4 CAUSAL and G8 CSCG. The structural question Sheldrake raises (does form live somewhere other than the material it shapes) routes to L_2 and is sealed by PSP-007 + MA-21 + BA-008. Sheldrake is structurally correct about the existence of a non-genetic form-register. He underspecifies its topology.
Form affecting matter outside genetics. Three mechanisms are available in the framework’s vocabulary. First, L_2 spectral constraints. Growth dynamics flow down L_2 gradients. The genome encodes local parameters. The L_2 topology selects which trajectories are stable. Phyllotaxis (Fibonacci leaf arrangement) is not in the genome as instruction. It is the L_2 attractor any growth process with the right local rules falls into. Form is in the geometry of accessible configurations, not in the matter that realizes them. Second, BA-011 spectral-dual conformal persistence. Patterns stabilized once at L_2 are preferentially re-accessible because L_2 carries modular-spectral structure. This is the structural footprint Sheldrake reaches for as “morphic resonance.” Third, BA-016 L_1 trans-spatial trajectory imprints (GOLf). The deepest layer at which form can be already-there before any L_3 actualization. Trans-spatial features hold uniformly across substrate rather than carrying directional variation. The seal. Form and matter are inseparable because they are not two substances. They are the position-space and configuration-space registers of one continuous field, co-local at every coordinate, related by spectral duality. Plato saw the form-register, missed its co-locality. Aristotle saw the inseparability, missed the spectral specification. Sheldrake saw that the form-register exceeds the material genome, missed the structural anchoring.
In Aristotelian phrasing: the oak is the entelecheia of the acorn. In Platonic phrasing: the acorn participates in the Form of oak. In Sheldrake’s phrasing: the morphic field of oak-kind impresses on the developing seed. In Trisductive phrasing: L_3 actualization flows down the L_2 attractor at co-local coordinates per PSP-007, with the genome as one of many L_3 records of L_2 trajectory selection. Four phrasings, one structural fact, four levels of specification. The geometry is the memory. The Fourier dual is where form lives. The plant is one event in three projections.
